Flies for Lakselv
How to choose the right fly among billions of tube and hook flies? Every salmon angler have their own variants of famous patterns and personal favourites – some of them even seem to have magical powers.
We do not have the right recipe for which flies to bring, but after almost 100 days in the river each season we have come up with 3 fly patterns that you should have in the fly box. as written before, we could have chosen many other flies, which also works. Frances, HKA and Monkey style flies of various sizes tied on tubes with a double or treble hook at the end, you can get a long way. You can use these 3 flies more or less throughout the season and on different water levels. Water level and temperature are very important when it comes to the choice of fly, but also whether it is fresh salmon or salmon that have been in the river for some time influences on the choice of fly.
We know that 3 flies is not enough when you go for salmon fishing, it is simple just nice to have many boxes filled with flies, so below here you can see some other flies that can be very good in Lakselv.
