Week 27 : Owners week

Due to Covid-19 and the 200 years flood here in Lakselv, the season started late for us. Last week was the first week with guests. and it was our owner with friends who came again to fish with us. We saw a lot of fish coming into the river on our waters in the first couple of days of the week. Our guests had some good action to almost all rods in week, but unfortunately we lost many fish during the wee, actually we were into 12 fish this week, but we only managed to land 2 fish, one just under 10 kg and a another on 12,1 kg fish in the net, amongst all these fish we had a really BIG one on for almost 55 min, but the fish broke the leader in the very end of the long fight, another of our guests also caught his first salmon ever so very happy faces in the camp that day. The 6to6 beat was our best beat for a couple of days with some crazy action every day, then the water level changed and the fish was gone from that beat and more spread out on all our other beats. The water level was very high, and we only had 8 degrees in the water and it was raining a lot almost the whole week, so not the easiest condition for salmon fishing.

The good about Olderø water is that we have so many different kinds of beats and we can always find a beat with pools working on the current water level so you will newer be out of water when you are visiting us on Olderø fly fishing lodge.

As beautiful as they get.

The group of anglers from last week are all ready to come back to experience the fishing on Olderø in 2021 – If you need any more information regarding stay and fishing on our lodge please don’t hesitate to contact us, we would be more than happy to help you out in any way we can.
