Week 29 - Big fish week
This week Zenul and Hans-Olov continued their journey here at Olderø, and was joined by Ronald from Austria, Andrea and Francesco from Italy. Water level was very steady and the weather conditions was very good. The fishing started out very slow, but by midweek there was fresh fish coming, and Ronald went for a morning shift alone in home pool on the high tide, and landed 4 fish, with the biggest on at 105 cm on floating line and a 5 cm sunrey.
On the same morning Hans was back at Holmen, where he had god luck the previous week. Hans managed to hook in to the biggest fish so far for the season, a 117 cm female fish, that he bautifully released carefully into the water again. What a great feeling to share a moment with this perfect creature, and watching it contentious its journey towards reproduction.
The session was not over, as Hans 20 min later hooked a 12,5 kg male salmon, that gave up nerve-racking fight.
The day after the 2 Italiens was eager to catch a big fish, as they had lost a big fish the day before. Andrea was fishing with a sunrey and after 10 cast, he hooked his biggest fish ever, that measured 95 cm.
The wind picked up in the middle of the week, and the fishing got tricky, and after a slow session, the 2 Italians, have given up, but after a quick detour back to the lodge, the went determent back to the river, and Francesco finally landed his first Lakselv Salmon.
At the ind of the week, Ronald finished of the week with a perfect 13 kg big fish, from Ratama.
This week shows that persistans can pay of with all our guests hooking fish, and landing most of them.
We look forward to next week, where we will have repeaters from Finland and Sweden, and the water temperature looks promising, as well as the weather forecast.
