Week 30 - Family and friends
This week we meet the most difficult fishing, so we enjoyed all the other beautiful aspect of fly fishing for salmon. We welcome back Tuomas, Mika with his brother Aki and their friend Mikko, as well as the Spors family from Sweden, who visited us for the 7th time.
What a pleasent to see 3 generations of Spors fishing together, and the youngest one of the family Luke, did in the difficult condition manage to catch some fish. On the last day he landed a fresh sea liced 7,7 kg. Luke´s fly fishing journey did not stop here, as he will stay here for 3 weeks more to have his internship here, following the guide and everyday work at the lodge. His mother unfortunately lost a big one at 6 to 6 on the last evening, but as she said it was a pleasure to see that everything she leaned off the guides paid out in the end.
The week actually started out well for our finish friends, with Mika landing a 77 cm fresh run Lakselv salmon. At the same time, Mikko unfortuntly lost 9-10 kg fish just before landing at Ratama.
These days a lot of fresh agresive girls are running trough our pools. The group managed to land a good amount of them, all ranged from 2-4 kg.
The friends have a tradition here, with celebrating friendship by the river, and Mika finally hooked in to a Lakselv monster, that we all needed to see this week, but sadly the salmon won the battle in the end.
We hope to see you all again next year, even though we never got the big one, but we are sure that the whole group is eager to get back to get the revenge.
