Week 31 : Summer arrived

After two year of absense we welcomed back Axel Wimmer from Austria. The forecast for the week did not look to promising due to summer in Finnmark. The river it self was dropping dramatically during the whole week, after having a lot of water in the previous weeks. So conditions was not perfect, but the moral was high and Axel was happy to be back at Olderø. This resulted in a nice fresh 85 cm fish on the first day of fishing from one of our upper beats caught on a 10 cm monkey fly. After that we had a couple of very slow days, with only a grilse and one bigger one lost on Holmen. Then on the last fishing day of the week, Axel got what he came for. After hours of hard work he managed to hook into a beautiful hen fish at the Bakery. The fish was 12 kg and fresh from the sea, and the fish took Axel far down on the Bakery but in the end, the fish came into the net and everybody was happy.

Again Axel enjoyed the fantastic food from our chef Sasha, and the company of our very good guides here at Olderø fly fishing lodge.

We all look forward to see Axel again in the future and hopefully the weather will be better next time.
