Week 33 - Bigger fish are waking up
Mawill Lüdenbach had essemble a mixed group of excited anglers from Germany, Austria, Polen and Belgium.
After a quite last week, energy on the river as it lowest, but some rain and changes in conditions the fish got more active, and starting to show up in all our beats.
On the first session our new friend of the lodge Hans, went to Holmen and within the first 10 cast he hooked a grilse, and shortly after a 96 cm fresh female salmon. What a way to start his first week at Olderø. Morale was high for the remain of the week.
The fishing was continuously good trough out the following days where all in the group landed several grilse, lost battle with big fish at the net. Specially Thomas and Bram where unlucky to loose there big fish, just before landing.
The week had many highlights, starting out with Maciej who had a magic 5 cast at Ratama with two lost fish and one 90 cm strong male fish. Maciej outdide him self the day after, going to Holmen and hooking and landing a 101 cm beautiful female. Gerald likevice, had a fantastic session at Ratama, with two medium size salmon.
A very experienced angler knows to have patiences and just keep going. This was the case, for Mawill that througout the week did not have a serious take the whole week, but the second last day it happened for him. He went to Ratama and after one of the best fights this year, he could land a 104 cm big fish.
We also had to say goodbye and thank you to Luke, who had been following the lodge life for a couple of weeks and was a great addition to our team, for the time he was here.
Water was raising through out the week, and still now raising. This can only be good, for our guests who is coming next week.
